SIFH Global in Nigeria

In June 2022, Nigerian Special Forces succeeded in liberating yet another of the 276 young women taken captive by Boko Haram during a raid on the Chibok School in 2014. Although the initial outrage and outcry to “Bring Back Our Girls” was magnified by celebrities around the world including First Lady Michelle Obama, the burden to rescue our kidnapped sisters is carried almost exclusively by Nigerian military forces and continues a full eight years later today. This rescue work is situated within the larger context of Nigerian military operations to rid the region of terrorism.

The leadership and membership of SIFH Global has a long history of connection to western Africa. Our Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Director of Training and International Initiatives, and Director of Programs in Nigeria have worked, conducted humanitarian missions and traveled extensively throughout Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia and Senegal. It is through the firsthand lens of our organization’s leadership, and our deep commitment to our Nigerian sisters and brothers, that SIFH Global has initiated programs to support communities in Nigeria at this pivotal moment in its history.

Our strategy has always been to identify areas of immediate urgent global need and to do whatever is necessary to assist. In Nigeria that need emerges from areas where Nigerian Special Forces continue to repel and destroy Islamic State West Africa (ISWA) and Boko Haram terrorist cells. In recent years Nigerian forces have escalated their military operations and continue to make significant progress resulting in the ongoing rescue of women and children abducted from Chibok school and throughout Nigeria as well as deterrence of further similar tragedies. Alongside increases in military operations, the incidence of wounded has also escalated. There is great demand for high-quality military grade IFAKS (Individual First Aid Kits) and supplies for combat medics.

100% of the funds that we receive from you today will go towards the purchase of user-friendly IFAKS packed with equipment most needed to stem or stop bleeding during incidents of combat trauma, including:

  • Compact chest seals

  • CAT 7 tourniquets

  • Quickclot combat gauze

  • Trauma shears

  • Latex gloves

  • Mini- markers

  • Wound packing gauze

  • Trauma dressings

  • Anti-biotic ointments

  • Nasal trumpet

  • Emergency blanket

We hope that you will consider supporting our work on this very important mission. On behalf of myself, our Director of Programs in Nigeria - Catherine Addo-obasuyi and our Director of Strategy – Xenia Cox, we thank you for your generous gift. Your receipt will be sent to the email address provided.
